a qestion

sorry to be an ass. i hope people read this.

i've recently just realised how rbbish and grainy and pixelted the comic pages are on this webcomic. not to mention, i always FULLY aware of the horrible contrast and colour the scnner gives to the pages.

it really bothers me (and i mean it is reaaallly bothering me) esspecially because my art work is messy enough as it is >:( and i work very hard to make it clean and suitable enough, and the quality is just shite.

i am amazed people put up with it... thank you very, very much btw. but i just wanted to know a) does anyone else feel this way about these comic pages?? you can be honest. maybe i ma just being paranoid, i dont know =_=;
b.) does anyone have any good scanning tips on scanning pages to not make the contrasts and colours so poor?

Errr well I don't have a scanner (it broke like 5 years ago and I never bothered to get a new one, orz) so I can't help in the tips.
BUUUUUT.
I think the pages look fine?!

Well, the pages are a bit pixely, but that's because of the scanner. Simeple touchups can fix that glitch.

As for color, also, simple touchups can fix that if you really feel that they're bad, but I enjoy them as they are so... :x

The pages look perfect to me. I don't see anything wrong!

Uh...scanning tips... what DPI setting you scan in matters a lot! I scan at 300dpi (before I use to scan at 72dpi...that was a mistake!). The file size will be HUGE, but your scanner will pick up all of the bits that it would normally leave out if scanned at a lower setting. (And you can always resize the final image later.)

Oh! I learned this trick recently: If you have a flatbed scanner and you put a large book or a heavy stack of papers on top of the image you are going to scan, it darkens the image. I've only done it for a few things that I scan in pencil and not ink.

Also, Photoshop/any image processor-editor is your best friend. After I import a scan into PS, I adjust the brightness/contrast like crazy (uh...sometimes a little too much...^^;). Some people adjust the Levels instead of the brightness/contrast and that works too.

Lastly, if you have PS, I always save the .jpeg with the "Save for Web & Devices" option. This specializes how your image will look exactly on the internet.

I don't really care about how good the scannings are as long as I can tell the art is good and read it (:
And I don't have any scanning tips since I draw all digital xD

Oh, it's not that bad. Stop obsessing. The colors and everything show up great. :T I don't know what type of file you're saving it as, but do anything but a JPEG. Horrible quality, and makes it highly pixelated.
